Handprint Heart Activity

This is another great activity created by our director Georgia Afendoulis. She has been working in childcare and afterschool programs for several years and has a passion for getting crafty with the kids as she sees this develops creativity and self esteem. In this activity we create a fun and unique handprint as a keepsake or as a gift to someone. This activity requires some basic supplies such as paper, scissors, markers and string or ribbon, but also some watercolour paints or other safe paints for children.

Skills developed in this activity:

  • Learning about colours

  • Mixing colours

  • Creativity

  • Thinking skills

  • Caring and thinking about others

  • Relaxation and focusing

  • Building self-esteem

We’d love to see your Handprint Heart creations! You can share them with us on Facebook here.

A great fun activity to do with your child any time you feel the creative juices are flowing. For ages 3 - 10. Click...

Georgia Afendoulis, Director

I have been working with kids in after school programs for the past 6 years and I feel it’s important in this era to bring families and their children together with nature, doing activities as a family and keeping connected to each other. I believe empowering children is key because they will be the leaders of tomorrow.
